So you want to live your dream life! That's why you've been searching for answers online - to discover the principles that govern success in life and bring you the life you have always desired!
I identify 6 main principles that I believe are necessary for living your dream life -
1/ Accept Your Life
2/ Choose Your Dream
3/ Improve Your Health
4/ Increase Your Wealth
5/ Better Your Relationships
6/ Aim for Eternity
I will be going into more detail regarding these principles in subsequent posts but briefly, these are the main issues -
FIRST PRINCIPLE: Accept Your Life
Although you may not realise it now (or even want to face it), the truth is, everything that has ever happened to you has some bearing on the dream life you want to lead. All experiences, both good and bad, that have happened in your life, should be included in your search for the life of your dreams. A dream life that is merely an escape from a painful existence is not a dream life at all, since it doesn't take into account the truth of who you are. Being able to integrate your more negative experiences leads to self-acceptance, which can then be leveraged into your plans to create a life that truly fulfills you and makes you happy.
SECOND PRINCIPLE: Choose Your Dream
Following on from the more accurate self-awareness of ourselves gained from the First Principle, we now are in a position to choose a dream and mode of existence which can then satisfy the person we now realise we are. Choosing a dream entails creating an exciting vision that inspires you and makes you want to get up in the morning each day, then focusing on achieving it by the adoption of SMART goals that bring you closer to your desired destination.
THIRD PRINCIPLE: Improve Your Health
No serious attempt to create a better future can ignore the importance of bodily health. No dream life can be forthcoming if you are unsatisfied with your appearance, are overweight or suffer from ill-health. A commitment to physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle will give you the energy you need to create your vision and the pride engendered by creating the body you've always wanted will be a major boost to your self-esteem and confidence, which are both factors that will dramatically increase your ability to achieve your life goals.
FOURTH PRINCIPLE: Increase Your Wealth
Although this seems like a no-brainer, since practically everyone dreams of living a life where money is no object, it is necessary to think outside the box and live the mindset of a millionaire if you want to seriously achieve the goal of wealth creation. Traditional attitudes of "work hard and everything will be O.K." must be discarded in favour of the concept of giving yourself and your talents to the world (rather than expecting the world to give you what you want). These ideas and others form the basis of material success and will bring you closer to the goal you seek.
FIFTH PRINCIPLE: Better Your Relationships
Our connections and relationships with others have a major effect on our personal happiness - there is little point in planning to be a millionaire and have a wonderful life when your relationships are in the gutter, you are on the brink of divorce or consistently fail to attract a romantic partner with whom you can share your dream life. Handling this area of your life will greatly increase your personal happiness and is a major piece of the puzzle to living a meaningful life.
SIXTH PRINCIPLE: Aim for Eternity
Having created your dream life, there is no point in having one without considering the ultimate meaning of life. Since death will rob us of all our efforts in the end, a focus on tailoring your dream to include Heaven and the hereafter will fine-tune the issues you focus on to include questions of ultimate meaning. Those of a less religious bent should focus on the concept of "legacy". What do you want to be remembered for? Who will benefit from your life after you are gone? What would you like to give back? Considering these issues will lead to the lasting joy that comes from a life well-lived and the peace of a good conscience at point of death.
These are the six main principles for living the dream life you've always wanted! Stay tuned for future posts that will go into these Principles in more detail! Have a great day!

Yesterday Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey started their most recent meditation experience: Manifesting Grace through Gratitude.
I have tried their meditation experiences previously and I've always found it to be a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
They always lead in with a verbal introduction, explaining the mantra to be used and the purpose of the session.
Each session is usually about twenty minutes long and is largely therapeutic music. There is a new session every day and you can access each one for up to five days. There are 21 days of meditation and it's free!
For anyone who has never tried meditation, this is a great opportunity to have a go. Let's face it there is nothing to lose by giving meditation a try and so much to gain, if you find it beneficial.
Deepak Chopra is world renowned in his field and my favourite 'idol' Oprah Winfrey is on hand!
They have created their own app or you can google www.chopracentermeditation.com.
Your mind will feel clearer, your body more relaxed and your spirit at peace. That's how I feel any how. Hopefully you'll feel similar positive outcomes.
Believe it or not, I'm not getting commission for telling you any of this, but I just think it's too good an opportunity to miss. So what are you all waiting for... Let's go meditate!!!

My aunt asked me that question yesterday. "The question really is, what would Julia do?".
What would she do I wondered. She wouldn't be in this situation to start, but if she was, she would make the most of it I suppose. From all that I've read of her she was a carefree, devil may care person. Her thought on dealing rules was to not even acknowledge they existed. I started reading this book Julia Child Rules by Karen Karbo. She lists these in the first chapter.
"1. Living with Abandon, A La Julia
2. Make the most of the makeshift
3. Make it up as you go along; and
4. Make this your mantra: I'm never too anything for anything."
I read those 4 rules over and over yesterday and decided they were, perhaps, the best rules I've heard in a while! But upon further reflection of the rules, I realized they were the most scary rules I've ever heard. They require one to toss out all sense of control and order and as a control freak, such as myself, I realized those rules might be impossible to follow.
Maybe that's my problem, control and order, but I've often heard people say "controlled chaos" perhaps that was something I could accomplish. Julia Child, in all that I know, was an extraordinarily happy woman and if you think about it, following those rules you couldn't really be anything but happy. I'm certain she would have looked at the closing of the bakery, not as a tragedy, but for just that, closing the bakery. "Move onto the next thing" or "OK, what's next" is what I imagine she'd say to me.
So what IS next? How will you step out of your controlled box and live your life with abandon, Gina? There's a movie that Rob LOVES and I DESPISE "What about Bob". I can go on and on as to why I hate this movie and the top reason would have to be Bill Murray, but I digress. In that movie the big thing was, baby steps. That is how I will start living my new life without abandon, making things up as I go and making the most of the makeshift, baby steps.
The same wonderful Aunt who forced me to ask the question, mailed me "Mastering The Art Of French Cooking" the first week I opened my bakery. I have always felt, if you were a true "disciple" of Julia, you need to at least once cook her most famous recipe Boeuf Bourguignon. I opened the old Cookbook with it's yellowed pages and there it was!
"I'm never too anything, for anything" I repeated it over and over in my head as I read the recipe and it's directions and found myself holding my breath. I can make this, I kept telling myself as I had to bounce back and forth between the pages. Because there were recipes INSIDE this recipe. "I'm never too anything, for anything", "I'm never too anything, for anything" I kept repeating.
Now living with a vegetarian makes this project a little harder, so I found out the schedule of the friend who has been the most supportive through this life changing time and determined that this recipe will have to happen next week. Which gives me time to ease into my new life without abandon!
Until then, I realized cooking calms me, and cooking for people I love calms me even more. Alison is coming to dinner tonight, so I went with something familiar and nothing that requires a cookbook; homemade sauce and meatballs.
Adopting and adapting these new rules might be harder for me than closing my bakery, but I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends and family!!
What a beautiful country!
I have relatives all over Canada, many in Toronto, a bustling city famed for it's film making, amongst other things. I spent time there as a child. I was privileged to visit the amazing Niagara Falls, which I will never forget.
In my 20's I visited Vancouver and Banff. British Columbia itself is beautiful. I spent time in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia to carry out a investigative project. I loved the city, bright and temperate, with many walks in Stanley Park and shopping trips, admiring the blossom in spring.
I also went to Banff, What a place!! Banff Springs Hotel was out of this world. My walk across a frozen Lake Louise is something I will hold in my memory Forever.
Have a great day guys!
