Congratulations Arsenal on Winning The FA Cup 2015!!

Hi All!

As a long standing die-hard Gunners fan, I cannot resist saying Well Done to the Arsenal.

They are, and have been for many years, a great team, playing skilful, entertaining football and generally doing well, even if they don't win as many Titles and Trophies as we would like!

It's a good analogy for the lives of many of us, doing generally well, but not hitting the extreme heights that we may wish for.

Being the Best of the Best takes, dedication, time, energy, focus and consistency.

Hopefully we can all dedicate more time on our required aspects of personal development, in order to achieve our goals for the coming year.

Whilst we look forward to Arsenal scoring many goals next season to win many more Titles, including, The Premiership and The Champions League!!

Go Gunners!!

Review of The Ancient Secrets of Kings

Ancient Secrets of Kings derives valuable life lessons and success stories from ancient king’s lives and combines it in the form of a self-improvement video course that can transform your life. It helped me bring about a positive change in my life and showed me the way to success. Here are some of my experiences with this video course:

The Three Pillars
The video transformation course is divided into three pillars, namely Egypt, China, and Israel.

China
The first pillar is China. It focuses on the ancient kings of China and Great Wall of China to prove the importance of setting boundaries. If you do not define boundaries, you are vulnerable to foreign attacks. Some success factors are also discussed in this pillar, such as increasing productivity, eliminating negative thoughts and procrastination while following a schedule for routine tasks. Furthermore, this pillar also emphasizes optimization and organization of your life. This will help you save more time for the things you love.

Egypt
Egypt is my favorite of the three pillars and the one I found the most interesting. This pillar discusses how you can bring drastic and revolutionary changes in your life that can go a long way towards reshaping your lives. The beauty lies in how the pillar connects the ancient king’s secrets and justifies the fact that these secrets are quite applicable even in today’s era. What’s more, you can learn secrets of the pharaohs, finding out how they controlled and managed their global empire for hundreds of years.

Israel
Israel teaches one of the most important lessons and shows you the way towards maintaining peace in your life and in the environment around you. Additionally, Israel focuses on money and provides you direction on how you can become financial stable and avoid money problems throughout your life. It also teaches you a few things about love. It acts as a guideline to help you get both money and love at the same time in your life, and convert your life into a dream life.

Major Concepts

Some of the important concepts elaborated in the video course are given below:

Set Boundaries and Organize
The theme of the first pillar revolves around the concept of setting boundaries for protecting your internal assets from foreign attacks. Creating boundaries acts as a two-edged sword: it not only protects against external threats but also helps in organizing and eliminating distractions. China compels you to optimize your life and increase productivity if you want to achieve success.

Opportunities and Risks
Another important life lesson featured in the course is to pounce on every opportunity that comes your way. If you want to be successful in today’s fast-paced world, you should stay one step ahead. You will be amazed to know that even ancient kings who lived thousands of years ago took advantage of this proactive principle.

It also tells you how you can turn the tables against risks and use them to your advantage, just as Hatshepsut did during her reign. While she was preparing Thutmose III for his reign, she wore a male king’s attire to indicate her leadership status. When she left, Egypt was a prosperous country. She focused on channelizing the energies and resources in the right direction and delivered outstanding results. Common examples of people taking risks and succeeding are Donald Trump, Ray Kroc and Oprah Winfrey. The secret is that they took calculated risks which paid off big time.

Take Advantage of Available Resources
We only complain about lack of resources and that is one of the reasons for our downfall. According to this interesting video course, you should focus more on taking advantage of the resources you have instead of wasting time complaining about the resources you lack. Whether it is tangible resources or intangible resources, you should utilize them to the fullest. Skills, ideas, people, and knowledge are non-physical assets you can use to change your fortunes.

Verdict
Overall, the video transformation course is worth your time, effort, and money because it teaches you the success secrets of ancient kings in a completely different way, which you can use to achieve your goals in today’s world. It is easy to understand the concepts and ideas thanks to the examples provided. Even a beginner can learn these important lessons and use them in their routine life to succeed.

What Is the Real Meaning of Success?

People naturally link success to talent, money, power, charm, vitality... and for this reason we believe that successful people are those who are clever, rich, influential, sensual and vigorous. However this is not always true.

There are two conditions that govern our lives; - At any given moment we are either sharing or receiving. In fact, sharing, or in other words "giving away", is our common mission in life. That's the reason for the numerous examples of those who gave their lives in the name of peace... to protect other people.
Unfortunately, a large number of people in this world are striving to take and keep for themselves the few "coins" that others work so hard to earn. In addition, people are everywhere using their power to violate the basic rights of innocent children.
In order to receive, first we need to be sharing. And here is the best part: - Whatever it is that we share today comes back to us tomorrow in double, or even multiple times more/bigger. By the way:
  • Those who teach are rewarded with knowledge,
  • Love unconditionally to make your life a lovely journey,
  • Always act with humility and you'll be even more influential,
  • Simplicity is what really attracts love and strong relationships.
We use to say; - "One day I'll have a lot of money to share with those who need it". However, tomorrow might never come. - Share the few things you now have. Or, at least, if you don't want to give away the fish, then teach others how to fish. Yes, we all have something special going on inside of us... our innate talents, our divine messages.
By the way, if you think you do not have anything special to share, guess what? - You are a special person! Share exactly this with world.

Success is waking up every morning and going through the day feeling happy and putting a smile on every single face we interact with; Starting at home, going to the street, embracing our coworkers and spreading our positive thoughts to the whole world. Yes, the world really needs to be absorbing positive energy. It is everyone's responsibility to spread happiness.
Success is smart work, allowing you to save time to spend with your family. But success is also going back home every single day feeling tired, but happy to have contributed to one more productive day, to the great performance of your team and your organization as a whole.
Success is to have enough money to feed your family and help others. But success is also being short on money, knowing on the other hand that it's the result of each single drop of sweat that rolls down on your face.
Success also lays down on our humility to recognize that we are here to serve the World, not to be served by the World. It's our responsibility to contribute to a better future, raising responsible and self-confident children.
Success is knowing to appreciate the success of others. Yes, there's no room for selfishness. When and where friendship really exists, the happiness of others is meant to make us happy as well.
Success is being conscious that we are here to succeed, and that it is the result of beating failure. It is also important to know that success is not about being perfect. As I use to say, - those who are trying to be perfect are preparing to fail.
Success is knowing that lack of success is not the reason why we fail.
Success is not being concerned about succeeding. It happens naturally, and each single person in this world is meant to be a case of success.
Life is a "problem solving journey" toward success. It is the destination and the reward of honesty, hard work and perseverance.

The Journey of a Thousand Miles.

'The journey of a thousand miles begins with single step'

Lao Tzu

Whether referring to a our daily chores, a small project, getting through the day, a life changing goal or the adventure of life itself, these things can seem like climbing a mountain.

Often this feeling is more to do with our mindset, rather than the task at hand or the process we are contemplating.

The smaller or simpler tasks can more easily be put into perspective, once we place ourselves in a better frame of mind.

The larger more daunting journeys take more effort to re-frame, but the key is to remember that every journey begins with a single step, the first action towards our goal.

This first action is initiated by a thought, a decision to take that first step in the faith, knowledge and belief that we will arrive at our destination and achieve our goals one step at a time.

Wishing you enjoyment and success on you multitude of journeys through life.

Please stand up for this innocent man, whose trial starts today, by watching the video, sharing it on Twitter #FreeJason and Facebook and signing the petition on Change.org.

We need to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

Michael Jordan 's Wisdom (Rare Interviews)

Michael Jordan worked hard, practised hard from early in life to become successful and is a great example of determination.

'The only thing to fear is fear itself.'

'The only thing that can stop you is yourself.'

We all need to learn how to be the best that we can be.

Help Protect The Human Rights Act - Our Human Rights Are at Stake.

Ladies and Gents!

I am not interested in politics, but as a citizen of the United Kingdom and a citizen of the world and this universe, I believe that we all have a right to our basic human rights. I am interested in personal development, because it encompasses all and any aspects of development of the mind, body and soul, but this development is inconsequential if we do not have the ability to protect and receive our basic rights to be treated fairly, equally and humanely.

Here is a list of rights that the Act gives us access to:

  • the right to life;
  • the prohibition of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;
  • the prohibition of slavery and forced labour;
  • the right to liberty and security of the person;
  • the right to a fair trial;
  • prohibition of punishment without law;
  • the right to respect for private and family life;
  • the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion;
  • the right to freedom of expression;
  • the right to freedom of assembly and association;
  • the right for men and women to marry and found a family;
  • the right to peaceful enjoyment of personal property;
  • the right to education;
  • the right to free elections;
  • the prohibition of discrimination.

Many countries in the world do not afford their citizens their human rights and people are still fighting and dying for this right, not privilege, today.

Sadly, the Conservative Government are planning to scrap the Human Rights Act here in the UK and have made it a priority in the first 100 days of Parliament. If this happens, then we become the only country aside from Belarus - a dictatorship - not to have the Human Rights Act in place. What is the logic of scrapping such an Act, which was created to protect us post war?

We all need to at stand together and support the Liberal Democrats' campaign to save the Human Rights Act. Please spread the word on Facebook and Twitter #LibDemsfightback and sign the petition:

The Importance of Family.

Hi All.

I hope you are all well.

I'm out and about this weekend for my little cousin's Hen weekend. We've had a Friday night dinner and drinks, Saturday afternoon Tea in a lovely hotel with family and friends and now we're still out in Camden having a drink and a dance.

It's always good to have family get-togethers, to reconnect and remember that the essence of life is that your family means the world to you. They are where you begin, the centre of your world and the place you call home.

Times like these are when you remember and appreciate that fact. It gives you a warm glow in your heart and puts a smile on your face.

Forever family!!!!

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend and enjoy all those family gatherings.

Wishing you peace, love and happiness always

Les Brown - Get Your Mind Right! [Motivational Video]

There is no one better to 'get your mind right' than Mr Les Brown!!

LES BROWN- Everything you need to know about PURE MOTIVATION ( Part 2)

The second instalment awaits you......enjoy!!

Our Lives Are Determined By Our Choices

Hi All!

I hope you are all well.

I had the privilege of seeing Mr Les Brown give one of his great speeches in July last year, 2014. He told of his life, his beginnings in birth, early childhood and how he arrived at the point of being 'successful'.

I will not relate the details here, as his story is much better told by the man himself, but it suffices to say that his accounts are always moving, often heart rendering, not to mention comical.

He knows how to make you believe in yourself and your dreams, because he believed in himself and achieved his dreams. He is a living example of how someone can overcome adversary and come out the other side, not simply standing tall, with dignity, but how we can all excel and live the life we choose.

That's the point. It is a choice. A choice we make every single minute of every single day, which determines where we are in life right now, and what we will ultimately achieve.

Give Les Brown a few moments of your time and see how uplifted and inspired you feel afterwards.

Wishing you health, wealth and happiness always,

Shaleza

LES BROWN- Everything you need to know about PURE MOTIVATION ( Part 1)

The Great motivational speaker Les Brown shares insights on Motivation!

How do you motivate yourself?

Monday Motivation

Monday motivation is difficult to find, but why is that?

Monday is the first day of the working week, so we should be motivated, enthusiastic and ready for the week ahead, anxious to do all the joyous activities, be they work, rest or play for the upcoming week.

The only reason many are not motivated and enthusiastic on a Monday is that we simply don't enjoy what we're doing, especially in terms of work.

Those of us in this predicament need to reassess our situation, our jobs and pinpoint what we are unhappy with, decide what we do want to do and formulate a plan with set goals, which should be detailed and specific. Only then will we know what to focus on to attain our objectives.

When this happens, we can turn our Mondays into a day to celebrate. After all, all time is precious and every day as valid as the all others.

Time waits for no man, so let's appreciate each  and every moment!!

The Mind Is Dumb to the Future: Part 2

Show a Little Disrespect
Re-interpret your experience. Re-name Fear and Panic as Opportunity for Growth. Fear and Panic are physical. Think of your physical self at the moment you become fearful and start to panic. Fear and panic make you hunch over and cower in their presence. Try this: Sit or stand straight, pull back your shoulders, raise your chin and be your full physical self. This opens your chest and lets the Fear and Panic out. Just tell it to go away so Opportunity for Growth can enter. It can be as simple as opening a door. As simple or as difficult, it is up to you.
Fear and Panic=Opportunity. The feeling of fear and panic is itself an opportunity. An opportunity to take charge and back-talk your brain. Remember your brain is only aware of the past. Only you can see the possibilities of the future.

Re-interpret Tension as The Urge Toward Progress. Tension=Progress. Fear, panic and tension are your guideposts to opportunity and progress if you let them be, if you tell them to be, if you re-interpret them to be.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Sometimes even a single step is enough. Call tension, the gnawing in your stomach, the flush of heat you might feel, An Urge Toward Progress. Go toward it not away from it. When you fear that Opportunity physically stand and take a step forward. You will feel the tension begin to turn into something else, into progress. Re-interpret Tension as The Urge Toward Progress.
Fear and Panic=Opportunity. The feeling of fear and panic is itself an opportunity. An opportunity to take charge and back-talk your brain. Remember your brain is only aware of the past. Only you can see the possibilities of the future.
Tension=Progress. Fear, panic and tension are your guideposts to opportunity and progress if you let them be, if you tell them to be, if you re-interpret them to be.
Back-Talk. So instead of Fear and Panic you have Opportunity for Growth and instead of Tension you have An Urge Toward Progress. Now the brain will talk to you in this new language-if you tell it to. It's your brain, take charge of it. Talk back when you don't agree, and, you shouldn't agree when it is misleading you, which is more often than not. Show a little disrespect when it's telling you, no, when it should be telling you, yes.

The Passing of BB King.

Today the Great Legend that is BB King passed away in Las Vegas. His contribution to music far surpasses any words. We have lost a musical genius, but his music will live on FOREVER.

Mr King..... we give you our love and respect.

May You Rest In Peace Sir.

The Mind Is Dumb to the Future: Part 1

Shell of Self-Preservation
One of the challenges of life is to understand that you were born without limitations. A pulsating blob of possibilities. The conditioning of the mind from childhood is designed to keep you from killing or harming yourself. It is this very safety mechanism that builds and maintains a shell of self-preservation and keeps your life in a pattern of prediction based on the past, but the mind is not the present you or future you. The mind is a former self that knows nothing of the future and is always responding to stimuli that aren't present now but were present at one time in the past. The mind is dumb to the future.

However, its pattern of prediction is of great value. If you are still alive and reading this then it has worked so far, right? Yes, in a way. It has kept you from stepping in front of trucks, jumping off bridges, going down dark alleys at night in strange and unfamiliar places. Unfortunately it has also kept you from saying hello to someone because they might reject you, from applying for a job that might be at the edge of your skill set, caused you to give up before even trying something new, made you feel it isn't worth it because you don't stand a chance. Since the brain is unable to accurately predict the future it responds to new experiences with its knowledge of the past. But the past is not the future. Fear and Panic are not always the appropriate response. You can't stop the stream of consciousness but you can learn to ignore or interrupt it when it is not being helpful.
Some people call it the brain, some call it the mind, the id, the superego, ego. What ever you call it, it's you first, then it. If your name is George for example call it 'Little George', unless that's already the name of some other body part, then name it something else. Seriously, give it a name you can relate to. A name without power. How can you control something as powerful as the id, superego, ego, mind, brain? But be sure it's a name you can be friends with. A name of something you might be in charge of, like the name of a pet. A pet can be allowed to be itself much of the time but some of the time it needs your control. It needs your control in order to be happy, in order to know what you want, in order to not be in a state of fear, panic and tension. It needs you help and guidance. Have you got the idea? Whatever you call it, it belongs to you, it is your subject, under your rule.

He writes articles on a variety of subjects, from impressions of travel spots to speculating about the name of the moon, but his focus is on his writing and author interviews. What Whatsapp's Co-Founder Can Teach Us About Perseverance

Facebook acquiring Whatsapp is probably old news now, but the story behind this deal can teach a lot about perseverance. Not many people outside the tech circle knew Whatsapp's co-founder Brian Acton before his story became famous.
In 2009, Brian had applied for a job in Facebook, prior to developing his popular messaging app. His tweet after being turned down read 'Facebook turned me down.. looking forward to life's next adventure'. And as we know, Whatsapp was sold for $19 billion to Facebook.
He didn't let such a big rejection get to him. And his work life did a full circle when this deal was sealed.
What is Perseverance?
Perseverance basically means to keep going even when you're hit with an obstacle. But, that's easier said than done. Whether we are trying to lose weight or make it big as a start-up, setbacks can mar our self-confidence.
To persevere despite rejection is not a common trait, but one trait common in all successful people. Be it Brian Acton, Warren Buffett or the legendary Steve Jobs, they have all made a massive comeback solely because of perseverance.

How Can You Practice Perseverance In Order To Be Successful?
Brace the Change- So you got turned down by your fourth client this week. That's okay, it really is not the end of the world. Instead of whining about why fate dealt you an unfavorable hand, try to figure out how can you better your situation.
Deliberating on what went wrong will not get you close to what needs to be made right. Just accept what has happened, dust the rejection dirt off your shoulder, and change your game plan.
In fact sometimes obstacles can give you another insight into your plan of action. It could be a learning experience that might prove to be for the best in the long run.
Remember Why You Started- Motivation wear out, but it doesn't run out. There's a sense of exhilaration when you first set a goal but that excitement fades off with time. This is the primary reason so many people forget about their New Year's resolution by the second week of January.
Tap into the motivation that got you started. Just close your eyes and imagine yourself achieving the goal; how would you feel, how would people around you react. Are you seriously going to give up on this vision just because of a bump in the road?

Cultivate a Positive Mindset- Like an envious person seldom has anything nice to say, a negative mindset will never make you concentrate on the silver lining. In fact, it will just make the clouds darker.
Thinking negative thoughts just take too much energy. And a negative attitude seldom leads to success. You will be too busy self-doubting, and eventually give up on your goals. A positive mindset however concentrates on the positive aspects- like the solution instead of the problem. If you are an optimist, it will be a lot easier for you to get right back up after a setback.
One way to change your mindset is to analyze your thoughts. Which of your thoughts are negative and how does it affect your emotions associated with it. For instance if you are thinking 'I can't do it' how do you feel physically? Mostly depressed, right? To change this, you have to replace the negative thoughts with positive ones. Instead of saying 'I can't do this' say 'Yes I can!'.
Giving Up is Not an Option- Convince yourself that you just cannot give up. If you second-guess your goals, chances are you'll find an excuse to give up, and you are going to want to give up post-rejections. Do not let that happen.
Make a promise to yourself that you are going to go through this, or make a commitment in front of your friends and family. Once people get to know about your goals, you'd be more committed because you don't want people to laugh at or belittle you.
And every time you want to give up, just tell yourself you are going to try one last time.
Use Affirmations- An imperative tool to creating a positive mindset is affirmations. For the uninitiated, affirmations are like mantras that you repeat to yourself till you start feeling it in your bones.
Affirmations like 'I'm better than this obstacle/failure', 'This obstacle doesn't change me', or 'I'm going to be successful no matter what', creates a feeling of positivity plus your subconscious mind absorbs these messages and react on it.
Mornings are best for using affirmations. Make it a part of your brushing schedule.
Associate with Progressive People- A man is known by the company he keeps. We are all in some ways influenced by people we spend most of our time with. Try to spend time with people, who are progressing towards success, they have a determined mindset. And it eventually rubs off on you.
Perseverance does not come to you in a stroke. It takes time to build this habit. But once you master the art of perseverance, nothing can stop you from achieving whatever you want.

How To Be Motivated - Get Up and Get Going!

How to be motivated. No Kidding!!! If you are like me, then know and starting and maintaining your plan of life has been a tough go. Struggling through life with no idea what you wanted or, if you did, how to sustain that momentum to always be moving towards your dreams. Motivation and inspiration are tough things to keep focused on, especially when those tough days come along or disappointment shows its ugly face.
Today I want to talk about moving forward and reaching whatever it is you desire. No matter what that THING is. The perfect career, the perfect relationship, the perfect health, the perfect whatever. Here are some tips to taking steps in the right direction.

1) The most important thing that you must sort out is what is your vision, your dream, your desire... Similar to the story about the lumberjack who took time to sharpen his axe versus the one who just keep chopping and chopping. The person who takes time to think, plan and take the steps laid out in the strategy has a significant higher percentage chance of succeeding than the one who goes on faith, hope and no strategy or direction. Take the time to establish what it is you are wanting. Desire your perfect scenario in your mind. You then must put thought to paper or processor. Something that you can refer back to, amend, rewrite or just remind yourself of.

2) In your plan, be sure to set measurable goals, not only outcomes but timelines also. You must lay out a schedule of what and when you will do and complete things. Important thing to remember is to not beat yourself up if you do not attain the schedule. Just reschedule it and keep going. The key here is that you have a plan that you can follow and that you can refer to if you ever find you are unsure of what your next step should be. You should break down your goals into weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly. You can even go further than that if you like, do a 3, 5 and 10 year plan also. If you choose to expand you plan to this level (which I recommend), start with the further period out and work backwards. For example, your 10 year plan will help you establish what your 5 year should look like to accomplish the 10 year. Envision the end result of whatever timeline you create and work backwards on the steps needed to accomplish this.Then use this to create your daily plan, look at your weekly goal that you have established from longer term goals and establish what each day looks like.

3) And Finally, GO GO GO. take the steps you have planned, do the tasks, move move move. As mentioned, even if you don't achieve what you laid out for yourself, DO NOT STOP!!! Chances are you are that much closer to your goal, plus you have a plan and vision of what you are working towards anyways. Do not get stuck in negativity or self-defeating thoughts or actions, stay focused. The main thing that most successful people have in common, is their energy, they don't stop. Even if something happens, some hiccup or detour in the plan, they keep get up, get ready and GO!
I hope this helps. It really is this simple, but it takes commitment, planning and an ability to revisit your goals and dreams, to remind you of why you must get through the bad days, the challenges, the refusals.
Good luck and, as always, I wish you Great Health & Great Wealth.

A New Term Begins

Hi Ladies and Gents.

Today we woke up (apart from those who pulled an all-nighter!!) to find that the Conservatives have won the 2015 General Election. There will be many differing opinions and emotions on the result, as well as how we arrived here. Now we must wait to see how the changes, if any, unfold.

Congratulations to all of you who took the time and made the effort to vote. It makes a difference, and that, as far as I'm concerned, is why we are all here. To make a difference to people's lives and to change things for the better.

Hopefully, we will reach a time when nearly everyone who has the right to vote will exercise that right and then we can collectively really make a difference

Have a great Friday!

The Privilege To Vote.

I made my way to the polling station this afternoon, still trying to decide who to vote for. So much information. Who to believe??!!

When all is said and done, our votes will determine who will win the 2015 General Election and govern our land, but to me the main thing is that we all have a duty to vote.

To use this privilege of voting, a privilege that many fought and died for, a privilege that many people on the planet still do not have and are still fighting for. To use this privilege is a MUST.

Used well, we can help determine our future and have greater hope for all.

Live A Fulfilled Life, Take A Chance, You Deserve It!

You have the power to break through and live your life to the fullest. It's your choice to take action now. Start with a clean slate, take a chance, make a choice, Why? Because you deserve it.
There are 3 C's in life, Choice, Chance and Change. "You must make a Choice to take a Chance or your life will never Change.

If you want a change in your life you need to choose to just go for something you want, instead of whatever life has given you. Life gave me cancer, not once, but twice. I did not let it stop me from getting what I wanted out of life.
Steve Jobs once said, "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition."
You are destined for greatness, but unless you make a choice to change your life, you're never going to know. I made a change in my life. I went through what is called 'The Champion Project.' I always knew what I wanted out of life, but didn't know how to get there until I found the Champion Movement. It helped me find my true self, my meaning in life, my why.
You need to accept the fact that when you do decide to go for your dreams, there might be failures and naysayers. So you need to step away from the crowd and create your own path in life. There will be failures, but that's just part of the process, just like growing up, only then they called them, growing pains.
The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, said: "I could accept failing, But I could not accept not trying... and never knowing what if."
If you ever stop going for your dreams, how will you ever know if they would have become real?

All of us want a life that is magical, magnificent and one of fulfillment. But many of us think that a magnificent life is something that happens, as if it is something done to us without us doing anything at all. We think that a life of fulfillment is something reserved only for the lucky ones. We can all have a life full of memorable moments and happiness regardless of our circumstances. You just have to believe it and want it.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!"
Understand that when you feel dissatisfaction, that it is really the first step to a better life. It is nature's way of saying that there is something better out there for you, you just need to go out and find it. Without hate, we would not know love. Without tiredness, we would not know what energy felt like. Without Darkness, we would not know how beautiful the sun is. Any champion will tell you that you must experience pain and discomfort along the way in order to achieve a great life. Accept that the pain is here to serve you and start looking at what the first step is you can take to make a change.
One way to feel great about your life, is look for more things to smile about in it. No matter what it is or what happens to you, just smile. You'll be amazed at how much a smile can change your attitude and change the way others look at you.

Everyday rights -- when we need more help if we have a disability

Human Rights are just as important here in the UK as they are abroad. What are your experiences?

Amnesty International's Campaign to Highlight The Human Rights Act.

Hi there Ladies and Gents!

I hope you have had a great Bank Holiday Weekend and have enjoyed the glorious sunshine that we have had today.

I have been an active supporter of Amnesty International since I was 14 years old, a while more than twenty years! Time does fly! I joined whilst at school after attending a lecture by a representative of Amnesty. I was greatly moved and believed that the work they carry out was, and very much still is, invaluable, especially to those that they help and support. They fight for the rights of people that can no longer fight alone or for themselves.

We used to meet weekly in a designated classroom to write encouraging letters to prisoners of conscience and to rulers and governments, asking for their release and/or for changes in the law of the land.

Things have become much more hi-tech these days, so as well as donations, I am always on stand-by to write/send emails and sign petitions. I've even been known to go on the odd march!

We are all aware that Our General Election is looming and this is an obvious time to get our MPs to listen to our opinions, in order that they can stand with us to represent us and fight for what we believe in.

Thus Amnesty International are currently running a campaign, asking us the public to ask our local MPs to uphold the Human Rights Act here in the UK and abroad.

I would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to check out their campaign.

Have a great week,

Shaleza.

7 Ways To Make Affirmations Work For You

Nearly every individual who has ever trained others in personal development and self-help, has emphasized using affirmations to enhance one's positive attitude. Perhaps the best way for us to think about an affirmation is merely by looking at the word affirm in the route of that word, and to understand that unless one uses positive, present tense terminology and statements, he is not truly affirming anything that will have any sort of significant impact. In my over three decades of involvement in leadership training and personal development/ self-worth, I have consistently stressed that affirmations are an extremely important, proactive behavior, that often makes a significant difference in one's mindset and attitude, it only gets the most desirable result when these statements are personal, present tense, and stated in a positive manner. If you want to make them work to your optimal benefit, here are 7 Ways to Make Affirmations Work For You.

1. Make your affirmations personally meaningful. Don't merely state things that you believe to be either politically correct, what others do (or you believe expect of you), overly general, or of less than directly relevant to what most matter to you. They will have little impact if they are not statements related to what concerns you, you care about, or will have the desirable impact of motivating you to persist and persevere towards the goals you seek.

2. Always use positive statements. For example, those that look to lose weight, should avoid saying things like, "I'm going to go on a diet," or "I will lose weight," or even worse, "I will look better than I do now." Rather, state it in a more positive way, such as, "My sleek, fit body, makes me feel better, and perform to the best of my abilities."

3. Make your list of affirmations no less than five items, nor more than ten. Each must be personally essential and relevant, and you must really care about these things deeply. Think about what matters most to you, and how you can become the best you can be, and then base your affirmations on those needs or desires.

4. Write them down. The mere act of putting things to paper is a significant, impactful first step in enhancing your positive attitude and behaviors. In addition, doing this, makes it far more important and relevant.

5. Read your personal affirmation list aloud (in private), to yourself, preferably in front of a mirror (so you can look yourself in the eye and truly come to believe your words). Some believe they can't accept stating things in a positive way, and in the present, when that is not yet the case, but it is important to realize that only when your mind comes to believe and accept that you are that way, will the end result occur! You must do this, every day, at least three times per day.

6. Commit to do this every single day, and make it an imperative component of your daily routine.

7. Re-visit your list every 30 days, evaluate your progress, and tweak your Affirmations, to address your evolving needs. Once you begin with using these, it is essential that you continue the process, continuously and seriously, for at least twelve months.

Don't treat this process as a mere exercise or some sort of philosophy. Rather, use these 7 Ways to Make Affirmations Work For You!
